La période de ḥasūm à Djerba : la fête des êtres de l'au-delà sur terre
Edina Földessy (Musée d ‘Ethnographie, Budapest)
Abstract
In the Muslim world, as elsewhere, supernatural phenomena are associated with meteorological peculiarities characterizing the weather at certain times of the year. In Djerba, beings from the afterlife come to earth to celebrate during the period of ḥasūm, which falls at the boundary between the winter and spring seasons. The article presents the findings of the author’s fieldwork in Guellala, a Berber-speaking village on the island of Djerba (Southern Tunisia).
