The concept of dahr and Its Historical Perspective in the Ǧāhiliyya and Early Islam

Abstract
The article examines the concept of dahr, a dominant category in the pre-Islamic and early Islamic periods. Special attention is given, amongst others, to the personal aspect of dahr, to dahr and the destiny of mankind and the world, and the changes in the concept in the two periods.
