On the Periphery of Two Worlds: Some Aspects of the Contemporary Perception of Islamic Tradition among the Muslims in the Balkans

Abstract

The article provides an analysis of some aspects of Islam in the Balkans, with special attention to the influence of neo-revivalism on the Muslims in Bulgaria and the tendency of a gradual return of the Bulgarian umma to the values and virtues spread by the greater umma in the central Islamic lands.
